Greater Tulsa Officials Association
The Greater Tulsa Officials Association is an organization with a long tradition. The group was formed in 1967 with a drive to improve officiating in the Tulsa area. For over 50 years, the GTOA has worked closely with the OSSAA and schools across the state to provide qualified and highly trained officials.
The GTOA is administered by four (4) officers and one (1) assignment committee. All elected positions are on an alternating two (2) year cycle. An executive committee is appointed each year by the President to help guide and assist the Executive Officers as they guide the organization.
With great pride, the GTOA has produced four (4) officials who have, or are still, officiating in the National Football League (NFL), and numerous officials into the NCAA, indoor football leagues, NAIA and NJCCC. Many GTOA officials who have graduated to the college ranks, have excelled and been selected to participate in NCAA bowl games.
The GTOA has been a pioneer in improving mechanics in Oklahoma since the early 1990s. We helped develop the current five-man mechanics and most recently moved the Umpire position into the offensive backfield, making it a safer position to officiate the game and extend officials career's.
Over the years, the GTOA has had a positive influence on officiating in Oklahoma and is governed by the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA) and the National Federation of State High School Associatoins (NFHS).

The GTOA currently has a membership of approximately 240 officials and assign games for over 70 schools in NE and central Oklahoma. We have annual meetings beginning each year in July. We encourage anyone interested in officiatin to contact the association for further information. New officials are fully trained as part of our Development Program with a veteran training crew.
